National League North title chasers Stockport County have pulled off a deadline day coup by signing last season’s top goalscorer Jason Gilchrist on loan from Southport until the end of the season.
The prolific 24-year-old found the net 26 times last season, while representing both FC United and Southport to beat County’s Jason Oswell to the Golden Boot award.
The former Manchester City academy prospect has found the going a little harder this year but his still netted nine times for the Sandgrounders this term.
