Thomas Baillie has stepped down as manager of Stratford Town following their most successful season in history.
The Southern League Premier Central side have accepted his resignation due to Baillie’s ongoing personal commitments.
Baillie joined the club in September and his recruitment led to improved form as Stratford reached the FA Trophy first round where they lost to winners AFC Fylde, won the Southern League Challenge Cup and finished fifth. They were beaten in the play-offs by eventual winners King’s Lynn Town.
Baille said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club, it’s been a pleasure to have played a part in a special season.
“I would like to thank the players, staff, board and fans for their continuous support and I wish you all every success for the future.
Stratford added: “The club wishes to thank Thomas for all of his hard work and for his valuable contribution to the clubs best ever season and he will always be a welcome visitor at Stratford.
“Steve Walker and Paul Davis will continue in joint caretaker manager roles whilst the club reviews the interest and applications for the Managers position.”
I have decided to resign my position @StratfordTownFC
I’m pleased to have been able to deliver a season of success far above expectation level.
I would like to thank everyone for their support & efforts in making the season the most successful ever in the clubs history. ?— Thomas Baillie (@Thomas_Baillie1) May 19, 2019
