Yeovil Town and the National League club’s fans are mourning the passing of Ciderspace website editor Martin Baker.
Baker had edited the popular website dedicated to the Glovers for decades and tributes have been flooding into Huish Park since his death this weekend.
A Saturday night statement on the club’s website read: “Everybody at Yeovil Town FC is deeply saddened to hear this evening’s news that Martin Baker has passed away.
“Martin’s work via the Ciderspace website and other projects has done so much over many years to promote and help the club.
“Everyone at Huish Park, including all of the playing and management staff want to send their sincerest condolences to Martin Baker’s family and friends, he will be sadly missed.
Yeovil Town manager Darren Sarll also paid tribute to Baker in the statement.
“It’s individuals like Martin that make and made Yeovil the wonderful, family environment it is,” said Sarll. “I’ll miss his updates and his contribution and loyalty to Yeovil Town FC.”
“It is our duty to make sure that Yeovil strives for further successes and allows him to watch from above, and be proud of our future achievements.”
“This club is a family and we support each other through the good and the bad. We open our arms to his family and friends at such a sad time and please know they are always welcome at Huish Park.”

People took to social media to pay their own tribute as news of his passing spread after the club statement.
@HamdonMart wrote: “An unbelievable font of YTFC knowledge, his dedication to the club was unswerving & he will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, Martin. You were one of a kind.
Another supporter @AlDinAtlantic tweeted: “Feel numb today. Never met Martin Baker but felt like I knew him after reading Ciderspace and his online musings for 20 or so years.
“Such a big loss and I hope #ytfc recognise his immense efforts for the club. Rip Martin.”
Yeovil Town Women FC also paid tribute, @YeovilWomenFC tweeting: “Everyone at YTWFC is saddened to hear of the loss of Martin Baker.
“His coverage of our journey on the popular site Ciderspace was always so greatly appreciated. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. #YTWFC”
