This week’s midweek action from the National League sees two sides desperate for points at the wrong end of the table. 20th place Wrexham host a Chesterfield side that are one point and two places worse off than them in the division.
Wrexham, now being managed by Dean Keates in his second spell at the club, have only lost one of their last four matches. However, just one victory in their last twelve matches has left the Red Dragons perilously close to the dropzone.
In contrast, opponents Chesterfield have enjoyed a resurgence in recent weeks. The Spireites have won two of their last three matches and taken seven points from a possible 12 to virtually double their tally for the campaign so far.
Attacking pair Mike Fondop-Talom and Scott Boden have been critical in Chesterfield’s fight to move out of the relegation places. The duo have scored 13 of the club’s 21 league goals to date and will be looking to cause Wrexham problems at The Racecourse.
