Leatherhead unveil new chairman after Richard Bligh departs

have a new look board of directors after Richard Bligh stepped down as chairman.
Fellow director Daniel Hodges was unveiled as his successor on Friday ahead of Nikki Bull’s side hosting title-chasing in the Isthmian League’s Premier Division on Saturday.
According to a club statement, Bligh stood down for personal reasons and will continue to contribute to the Surrey club as a director and membership secretary. Local businessman John Dean was also welcomed on to the board as director ahead of the weekend’s action at Fetcham Grove.
The statement read: “The board would like to advise that Richard Bligh has decided to step down as chairman of Leatherhead Club for personal reasons.
“However, he will continue in his role as director and also membership secretary. The board would like to thank Richard for his time and efforts as chairman. Daniel Hodges has agreed to take up the role as chairman. These changes take place with immediate effect.
“We are also pleased to announce that John Dean has accepted our offer to join the board as a director. He brings with him his vast business experience and football club knowledge gained during his time at Crystal Palace.”
Former boss Nikki Bull, pictured, succeeded former Tanners star and player-manager Sammy Moore in March 2018 on a two-year contract. A former keeper, the 37-year-old made more than 250 appearances for Aldershot and more than a hundred for Wycombe Wanderers.
