Paul McCallum warns title rivals: Solihull Moors are coming for you!

Paul McCallum has fired off a warning shot to the rest of the are coming for you!
The pre-season title favourites have recovered from a stuttering early-season run by winning three of their last four matches, including the scalp of high-fliers last weekend.
It’s a run which has taken Tim Flowers’ men menacingly into the play-off places – and McCallum reckons the resurgence has only just begun with a trip to next up on Saturday.
The former West Ham youngster, pictured, proved an instant hit with the Damson Park faithful at the start of the season, scoring four goals in his opening four games since joining from in the summer as the National League’s top scorer with 27 goals.
Sadly, his progress was halted by a niggling groin injury, a setback which coincided with Moors picking up just two points from a possible 21.
But now fully recovered and back in contention for a starting place, McCallum is determined to help chase down surprise leaders and help make sure the ambitious midlanders fulfill their dream of reaching the League.
“We are definitely a team on the up,” said the 26-year-old at the launch of Solihull’s newly-named ground, the SportNation.bet Stadium.

NEW IDENTITY: The SportNation.bet Stadium

“The losing run was a strange one. Form and morale in the camp suddenly dipped and we don’t know why. It’s hard to put your finger on. But now, somehow, we find ourselves back in the play-off places and that has given us all a huge lift.
“We have some good players in the squad, players who have experience of winning this league before, and leagues above too. The other teams at the top won’t want to see us breathing down their necks, that’s for sure!
“We are confident in our ability and know that if we go on the kind of run that we know we are capable of, we can get ourselves into a winning position. There’s a long way to go yet though.”
But, despite his goalscoring feats last season and fast start to life in a blue and yellow shirt, McCallum has plenty of competition to reclaim a starting place.

ON A MOORS MISSION: TIm Flowers

Flowers has brought in Jake Beesley and Josh Neufville – on loan from Salford City and Luton Town respectively – to boost a Solihull Moors strikeforce already containing seasoned performers in Nathan Blissett, Danny Wright and Adi Yussuf.
It’s left boss Flowers with an abundance of riches to select from but while McCallum welcomes the competition for places, he firmly believes he is the man to call on and take Moors to the next level.
“You have to have competition if you have set your sights high,” added the former AFC Wimbledon, and Portsmouth hitman.
“The guys have found a bit of form in front of goal in recent weeks and the shirts belong to them at the moment.
“It’s not easy to come to a new club with big expectations and start scoring goals straight away but in the first month of the season I did that, before my injury.
“But now I’m really close to returning and have no doubt that when I am back it won’t be long before I start scoring goals again to get this team back where they belong.”
