New Eastbourne boss Danny Bloor will be one of three wise men

New boss Danny Bloor will be one of “three wise men” at the South club’s Priory Lane.
The successor to Lee Bradbury, former Sports star Bloor will be assisted by Scott Chalmers-Stevens as first team coach and Sergio Torres as player-assistant manager following his spell as caretaker.
Bradbury left in the middle of last month on “entirely amicable terms” after Sports announced an urgent appeal to raise £40,000 and a major restructuring, on and off the field.
Bloor needs no introduction to the club’s fans having arrived as number two to Jamie Howell and working for Mark McGhee and Charlie Oatway during their reign before assisting Bradbury following his appointment this summer.
According to a statement on Sunday confirming Bloor’s appointment, Eastbourne Borough chairman John Bonar is looking forward to all three working together to turn around their campaign.

Bonar told the club’s website: “We are very pleased indeed with these appointments. We interviewed other strong candidates but we are more than confident in our decision.
“As a club we have just endured some traumatic days – not quite an earthquake but certainly an earth tremor – but the response to the situation, and the way forward, are all about everyone pulling together.
“That’s exactly what we will get from Danny, Scott and Sergio. Three Wise Men? Well, it’s not long till Christmas so if they are bearing the gift of some league victories and a trophy run, that will do nicely.”
He added: “The brief on the pitch is to keep us in National South, and we are convinced we can do that with quite a bit to spare. The wider brief is to re-establish the bond with supporters and get the smiles back!”
