New Burgess Hill Town boss Jay Lovett unveils his touchline team

New boss Jay Lovett has unveiled his touchline team after taking charge on Monday.
The former Plymouth, Brentford and Crawley Town defender named Steve Sutherland and Matt Bubb as his joint assistant managers after the duo worked alongside him before his departure from BetVictor rivals .
According to the Hillians, Lovett has also asked the club’s current physio Phil Tobin and kit man Ray ‘Pav’ Bugg to stay on his staff at the Green Elephants Stadium.
A club statement read: “Following Jay Lovett’s appointment, we can now announce his backroom staff. Steve Sutherland and Matt Bubb join as assistant managers – having both worked alongside Jay at South Park.
“Steve enjoyed a successful playing career at Met Police, Tooting & Mitcham and Walton Casuals – notably winning promotion to the, then, Ryman Premier League with the Police back in 2011.
“Matt brings vast coaching experience, having worked at Crawley Town, Royal Russell School and the Independent Schools’ Association. We would like to welcome both to the club.”
The Hillians added: “Popular characters, Phil Tobin and Ray ‘Pav’ Bugg will remain as part of the backroom team as physio and kit man respectively.”
Former Plymouth, Brentford and Crawley Town defender Lovett switched BetVictor Isthmian League dugouts to succeed Simon Wormull as Hillians boss.
The 41-year-old quit the Isthmian League Central Division’s Sparks on Sunday before being unveiled as the successor to Wormull at the Isthmian League South East Division’s Hillians on Monday.
Wormull left last Wednesday before the Hillians moved swiftly for Lovett who turned around South Park’s fortunes during his 12 months at the helm of the West Sussex club.
Last Tuesday night’s 4-3 defeat at Whyteleafe proved to be his final match at the helm before he left with his side second from bottom of the Isthmian League South East Division.
An uncompromising defender, Lovatt also enjoyed a distinguished career with the Met Police, , , and the Hillians among his former clubs.
