CONFERENCE PREMIER club Stockport County will have a new chief executive from the start of next month.
Ryan McKnight, who currently works as CEO of the World Football Academy, will leave that role to take up the crucial position on the Edgeley Park board.
Speaking about McKnight’s appointment, Hatters vice chairman Spencer Fearn said: “I have been speaking to Ryan for some time, and I am delighted to say that he has turned down offers from two Premiership clubs to come on board and be part of our goal of returning to the Football League.
“Over the past 12 months we have improved on and off the field and completed an amazing amount of work to ensure that we live within our means. What we need as we enter our second phase of development are football specific people who know our industry inside out.
“As a board we have done well, but like most football club boards in the land, they are filled with people with some knowledge of the industry and usually a specialist in other businesses.”
