VICS earned a precious three points and moved off the bottom of the South table.
They took the lead on 17 minutes through striker Dave Short’s excellently-taken penalty, hammered low into the bottom corner despite Jack Steggles’ despairing dive.
The penalty was awarded after Steggles had upended Vics’ attacker Stu McDonald at the corner of the six-yard area.
