BASFORD survived a torrid opening half to come within touching distance of victory but were denied by a late own goal.
They were behind in the seventh minute as Elliot Parrott’s cross from the right eluded everyone and ended in the net.
Saul Deeney then came to Basford’s rescue, diving to save Jack Jeys’ penalty. Courey Grantham levelled, following up to score from close range.
Ben Hutchinson put Basford ahead again after the half-hour, meeting Fabian Smith’s cross at the far post.
