■BARTON moved one step closer toward securing a play-off spot with a convincing 8-0 demolition of Petersfield.
A hat-trick from the league’s joint-top scorer Connor Calcutt, a brace from Elliot Bailey and a goal apiece from Danny Watson, Tommy Smith and Jimmy Hartley gave the hosts an easy win.
A youthful Petersfield side never threw in the towel and gave it their all, but Rovers’ defence was not giving up their clean sheet easily and stuck to the task.
