Thomson’s late show a Celtic soul crusher

STALYBRIDGE CELTIC showed character after two moralesapping defeats to come close to the three points which would have kept their fight against relegation alive.
But they were kicked in the teeth when their skipper Matthew Hughes dived in to commit a foul with ten seconds left on the clock.
United substitute George Thomson delivered an unstoppable dead-ball kick to salvage a point for his side.
It was a bittersweet match for Hughes, who had earlier been the hero as he gave Celtic the lead by finishing Andy Bishop’s knockdown.
