A PENALTY scored seconds before the half-time whistle settled this uninspiring game in North Leigh’s favour.
The same two teams had engaged in a rather different feisty league encounter four days previously and this game had the feel that all players were on their best behaviour.
Just before half-time a Leigh attack ended with a Michael Hopkins cross, the ball hitting a defender’s arm on the way.
Hopkins slotted home the subsequent spot kick.
