■SUTTON entertained second-place Spennymoor Town in their continuing search for points to pull out of the relegation places.
The afternoon was going to be difficult against a team who would be playing their third game in a week, having won the other two.
The opening exchanges were evenly balanced, with corners at both ends of the pitch.
If anything, Sutton were having the best of the early chances.
