CLARETS’ TAKEOVER MYSTERY

CHELMSFORD CITY are staying tight-lipped as confusion reigns following reports their takeover – which the club effectively announced last summer – has actually not gone through at all.
The Clarets have questions to answer. They confirmed last July that a deal with the Jade Group had gone through and on the back of that financial backing, appointed Rod Stringer as manager and increased their playing budget to make a serious challenge for promotion.
