DUNSTABLE TOWN have rejected a takeover proposal – because they didn’t want to be relegated. Committee members voted overwhelmingly to say no to an offer of investment from a consortium of local businessmen.
The sticking point was that they wanted the club to rebuild in the Spartan South Midlands League because of recent off-field problems.
Interim chairman Alex Alexandrou said: “We needed to keep the club in the Southern League.”
