SO, Stalybridge Celtic are preparing for Step 3 football for the first time in 30 years, but what remarkable history that is for a club of its size. I ask, has anyone else been more successful.
Since Celtic won the Bass NW Championship in 1987 they have been ever-present in the second or top-tier of National Non-League football. At the same time, they have developed a Leaguegraded stadium which is surely one of the best in Non-League. No big-benefactor or investment beyond their status, they have just quietly got on with managing the club prudently on and off the pitch.
