LEE HENDERSON’S moment of madness, when he conceded a late penalty, cost Oxford two points.
Early on, Welling looked the stronger and Ian Gayle twice headed wide from Jack Jebb corners.
For the visitors Zac McEachran fired in a shot that Dillon Barnes claimed at the second attempt. They then got in behind but Matt Patterson’s shot was saved by Barnes. Eddie Jones then rose well for Oxford but Tom Bradbrook leapt high to head it over.
