AFTER their commendable draw in midweek against Matlock Town, Sutton entertained another much-fancied team in Ashton United who have begun the season very well.
Sutton were lively at the start and there was little to choose between the teams as the game flowed from end to end.
In the 23rd minute a needless free-kick was given away by Sutton skipper Zak Martin and Nicky Platt stepped up to hit a low shot that cannoned off one of his own players and deflected the ball away from the diving Mason Springthorpe in the Sutton goal.
