CRAIG LAIRD accepts there was probably no coming back from an interview he did last week telling Dorchester Town fans that they need to put their hands in their pockets if they want success.
Laird resigned as the Evo-Stik South Premier club’s manager on Wednesday night.
He says the last thing he wanted to do was to leave the club following a 3-0 reverse against bitter rivals Weymouth on Bank Holiday Monday.
But the former Weston-super-Mare manager knows the time is right for him to go and allow someone else the chance to turn things around.
