■A SPIRITED performance kicked off the first National League South game of Steve King’s second stint in charge of Whitehawk, as his side earned a draw against high-flying St Albans.
The Hawks started brightly with Tom Gardiner denying Pape Gueye from Brandon Scott’s great cross, before the hosts took a deserved lead.
Michael Cain burst through the Saints defence, forcing a block from Dean Snedker, but Gueye was first to the loose ball and fired it home.
