THE first derby for more than a decade went Hertford’s way.
The deadlock was broken when Ware could only half clear and Brett O’Connor bent his effort into the far corner.
The second half started fiercely and Hertford doubled their advantage when O’Connor cut in and his cross struck the arm of Lee White. Ex- Ware man Michael Toner smashed in the spot-kick.
With ten minutes left, a freekick was headed down by Elliot Charles for Murat Karagul to net a consolation.
