CASH-STARVED Merthyr’s rallying call for help certainly paid dividends as 923 supporters attended the Martyrs’ first home game since their development team lost 13-1 at Chesham last weekend.
With over £18,000 raised through JustGiving over the past seven days, Merthyr had two thirds of their playing squad available and gave a good account of themselves to the home faithful.
Despite creating the better of the first half chances, visitors Dorchester Town took the lead on 38 minutes when Blake Davies fired home.
