CHIPPENHAM withstood a late goal from keeper Semy Dieng to gain revenge on Whitehawk in a reversal of the scoreline from last week’s FA Trophy defeat.
In a game that was delayed by 15 minutes after the visitors’ coach broke down, the Bluebirds’ best opportunity in the opening half saw Dieng have to be at his best to keep out Dave Pratt when he was one-on-one with the forward.
After the break, Matt Smith sent a fierce volley just over the Whitehawk bar.
