SOUTH Shields were made to fight to the end with battling Ramsbottom to consolidate their lead at the top of the table.
The visitors took the lead on 14 minutes when Louis Storey sidefooted home after a free-kick fell kindly.
Ramsbottom were forced to put midfielder Ben Richardson in goal due to injury and South Shields increased their lead when Jamie Holmes wriggled free and slotted home.
The Rams reduced the deficit on 64 minutes when Sam Heathcote headed in a cross before the away side regained their two-goal advantage as through Finnigan’s delicate chip.
