■WITTON ALBION salvaged a deserved point late on thanks to Owen Dale’s thunderous free-kick as the contest sprung to life in the closing stages after a disappointing opening.
It was a game of very few chances and both sides should feel the draw was a fair result, with neither team having too much cause for complain.
Despite constant forward movement by Shaw Lane, it was Witton who had the best chance of the first half, though it took a long time to come around.
