ENFIELD Town have made a defiant moral stance against their league’s sponsors – and have called on Isthmian chiefs to do the same.
The supporter-owned Towners overwhelmingly passed a motion at their recent AGM not to accept any prize money from Bostik League partners betting.net, who sponsor the league’s Fair Play and Performance of the Month awards.
Instead, they have agreed that any future money earned by winning any of these awards will be donated to charity combatting gambling addiction in the UK.
