BANBURY kept their faint hopes of a top five spot alive with a deserved win at a severely under-par Slough, who fell out of the play-off places as a result of this defeat.
The key moment in this tight contest came on 66 minutes as a ball from midfield split the Rebels defence and visiting striker Ricky Johnson confidently finished past Jack Turner to break the deadlock.
It had looked for a long time as if a single goal would win the match, as the two sides cancelled each other out in a first half where neither team settled into a rhythm.
