■ WET WEATHER again decimated the Premier Division programme, with Widnes’ match with basement boys Barnton the only game to survive. The hosts ran out convincing 7-1 winners to cut the gap between themselves and leaders Runcorn Linnets to just ten points.
Widnes took the lead on 38 minutes when Sean Myler played a ball over the top to George Lomax who finished well.
