ASHFORD United’s 9-1 defeat to Cray just five weeks ago was consigned to the past as they picked up a vital home win this time around.
A freezing afternoon at Homelands may have had an effect on the players’ performances, with the quality on show nothing like the previous meeting.
Revenge was never on the cards in this fixture as the Nuts and Bolts opened the scoring through Daniel Ajakaiye after just six minutes.
Cray, who are now fourth, levelled up when Brandon Scott slotted home.
