WREXHAM skipper Shaun Pearson led from the front with the match-winning goal that maintained the Dragons’ hopes of a late promotion push in the closing stages of the season.
For 75 minutes, visitors Maidstone United had frustrated the home side and their fans at the Racecourse, with goalkeeper Lee Worgan the biggest obstacle to a comfortable victory.
But Pearson’s unstoppable header from a corner, his fifth goal of the season, was nothing less than new Wrexham manager Andy Davies has come to expect from the experienced defender.
