TEN-MAN Trinity turned in a terrific display to dent York City’s play-off hopes and boost their own chances of avoiding the drop.
Ashley Worsfold scored the decisive goal ten minutes into the second half when he chased down a lost cause and pressurised City keeper Adam Bartlett into an error.
Bartlett’s punch fell to Nicky Walker and he fed Worsfold, who fired Gainsborough ahead.
The hosts had a mountain to climb when their Hull City loanee Brandon Fleming was sent off just before the half hour for a late challenge on Connor Brown.
