BROMLEY’S hopes of finishing in the play-offs were blown off course by a five-star performance from hosts Maidenhead United at York Road.
The FA Trophy finalists had an outside chance of ousting one of their rivals for a play-off berth, but those hopes went up in smoke inside five minutes thanks to goals from Sam Barratt, who powered home a far post header, and Christian Smith, who tapped home from close range after keeper David Gregory spilled a corner kick.
