SPORTS COULD BE KNOCKED OFF TOP

K SPORTS finished top of the Southern Counties East Division One – but seem likely to have the championship snatched from them.
They beat Stansfeld 2-0 on Monday to finish a point above runners-up Punjab United after a 14-game unbeaten run.
But an administrative error which led to them playing striker Caine Smith while suspended is set to see them lose three points, handing the title to Punjab.
The club were charged by the Kent FA for playing Smith in the home game against FC Elmstead on March 20. The league has now also charged the club with the offence.
