IN REFERENCE to AP Cuff ’s letter on player encroachment at the kick-off (Fans’ Forum, June 10), I, as an FA Observer, would like to turn his attention to a rule change at the start of last season. It stated: ‘The ball can be kicked in any direction at kickoff ’. Previously it had to go forward.
