ASHFORD United had to come from a goal down to see off a spirited Hythe Town at the Homelands Stadium in this season opener.
Charlie Webster put the visitors ahead after just six minutes in front of an impressive crowd of 429 for this Kent derby.
But Lanre Azeez got United back on level terms on the half hour and it remained 1-1 through to half-time.
Promotion hopefuls Ashford went ahead for the first time on 56 minutes when Ambrose Gnahore found the back of the net.
