BELPER got their season off to a flying start with a hard fought victory over league newcomers Morpeth Town.
The Derbyshire side had to hang on grimly though after going down to ten men following Jake Sturgess’s dismissal after 72 minutes.
Belper got the start they wanted when a tenth minute breakaway caught the visitors cold and Piteu Crouz romped away down the left before unselfishly finding Nathan Curtis unmarked and he slotted the ball home.
Nailers’ custodian Max Beardmore was crucial as he stopped everything Morpeth could throw...
