Blyth hold on after Peers misses sitter

BLYTH Spartans ended a run of three successive defeats thanks to goals from Sean Reid and Jarrett Rivers.
The Robins were unbeaten on the road with two wins and a draw and they should have grabbed a point with Tom Peers missing a late sitter.
Two goals inside two firsthalf minutes brought the game to life as Reid’s superb 25th minute finish put Blyth ahead before the visitors immediately hit back through Josh Hancock.
Andrew White’s great block then denied wideman Rivers in the 44th minute.
