ALFRETON missed a chance to record their best run in five seasons thanks to a narrow defeat to Guiseley.
It was far from an advert for the league, two poor sides scrapping for possession in a game of few chances.
The early goal called it. Rowan Liburd capitalised on a poor back pass from Reds captain Martin Riley, to round Sam Ramsbottom and slot home the opener, and ultimately, the winner.
Guiseley had two chances to double the lead, Liburd first with a mistimed header looping towards the top corner caught well by Ramsbottom.
