■ GEORGE Landais’ early strike proved decisive as East Grinstead Town edged out Great Wakering
Rovers.
The crucial moment came after just nine minutes when Tim Brown could only parry a rasping free-kick into the path of Landais who slammed home.
Going in to the second half Rovers looked to come out stronger and faster but they were denied by the East Grinstead keeper, Sheikh Ceesay, who made some timely saves.
Those saves proved to be decisive as Rovers found no way past the goalkeeper as he helped book a place in the next round of the cup.
