CITY ended their 71-day run without a home win with victory over in-form Borough.
Having scored 18 goals in their previous four meetings against the Sports, City could not have asked for a better start when Scott Fenwick turned Chez Isaac’s low cross in after three minutes.
The Clarets could have been further ahead moments later, but Michael Spillane’s header flashed wide.
Chelmsford could have doubled their advantage when Rhys Murphy stabbed a shot towards goal, but Mark Smith produce a strong hand to parry.
