WORCESTER is to get a new floodlit football ground – but it will not be for the city’s exiled premier club.
The Worcestershire FA’s plans to revamp their Claines Lane ground, which were given planning permission by the city council this week, will not provide a new home for Worcester City, who are currently groundsharing with Bromsgrove Sporting and play in the Step 5 Midland Premier League.
Instead, the ground will accommodate Worcester Raiders, who are pushing for promotion from Step 7 West Midlands (Regional) League Division One.
