THE LOCAL derby between Whitehawk and Burgess Hill Town was brought to an early end after the referee abandoned the game after half an hour.
Torrential rain eventually took its toll on the pitch, with Gerry Heron calling time on the game with the score at 1-1.
Keano Deacon did well to dispossess Sinn’Kaye Christie deep in the Hawks half but Melvin Minter did well to deny the Burgess Hill midfielder.
