INJURY-PLAGUED Aldershot Town named a full substitutes bench for the 0-0 draw with Wrexham yesterday – just four days after being forced to a field an academy side due to a lack of numbers.
With just 10 fit first-team players to choose from, manager Gary Waddock sent down the club’s youth team for Tuesday night’s FA Trophy replay at Bedford Town, culminating in a crushing 7-0 defeat at the New Eyrie.
But the extra few days’ rest clearly did the trick as Waddock – strongly linked with the Bristol Rovers manager’s job – was able to pick a 16-man squad...
