TILBURY relished denying local rivals Aveley a spot in the Bostik North play-offs for the first time in six years with a 3-1 win at Parkside.
While the Millers are certain of a top-six place, 16 points clear of the nearest challenger, they could have made sure with victory in the Essex derby. Aveley made a slow start and were nearly punished by Lance Akins who ghosted free of his marker to send a header just wide.
