WHITBY’S inconsistency has been outlined this week as three successive victories were followed by back-to-back defeats in the space of four days.
Again missing influential midfielder Adam Gell, Chris Hardy was also without centre-half Alex White and called on veteran assistant Lee Bullock to fill the void. The Seasiders were hit with a sucker punch from the West Midlanders, who grabbed the lead inside two minutes. Tom Thorley was on hand after a neat through ball split the Whitby defence to clip home from close range.
