LEATHERHEAD shared the points with Lewes at Fetcham Grove in a result that keeps their play-off hopes very much alive, but probably dashed those of the visitors.
Lewes started on the front foot applying pressure to the home defence and launching the ball into the box at every opportunity.
And it paid off when they took the lead on ten minutes, midfielder James Hammond slotting home with just the suspicion of a handball in the build-up waved away by the referee.
Leatherhead fought their way into the game and replied almost immediately.
