FRANKIE Merrifield scored twice as Canvey came from behind to rescue a point at home to Maldon & Tiptree.
Canvey took the lead in the fourth minute when Ade Cole found Ryan Melaugh on the left wing, and his cross was volleyed home by Merrifield from close range The lead was wiped out less than a minute later after some poor defending saw striker Liam Hope receive possession just inside the box and finish across goal and into the bottom corner. Maldon took the lead on 59 minutes when they gained possession on the left wing.
