Astunning hat-trick by livewire Louis Almond edged Chorley to victory in a wind-spoiled game which only really sparked into life in the second half.
In the end neither side was better placed than before kickoff, Chorley having to settle for the runners-up spot and a home play-off semi-final and Avenue holding on to the last shootout slot as rivals Telford were also beaten.
